GEORGE BEVAN

As lead coach for the England Performance Training (EPT), Wycombe squad, I am working with a team of coaches and specialists to support and guide several of our Region's top badminton players, all in pursuit of performance excellence.
The EPT programme is part-funded by BADMINTON England, preparing selected players for the high-demands of international competition, helping them to adopt healthy performance lifestyles that lead to successful international careers.
Since graduating from Bath University with a BA (Hons) in Sports Performance and Coach Education in 2006, I have been lucky to work with some of the World’s best coaches and players, studying the science and the art of the game and methodically applying my knowledge on-court for the past 8 years.
The planned training programme is based on the players' personal needs, but also guided by the latest trends in the world game and scientific evidence where possible. I am currently completing a MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Roehampton University and I work closely with highly-regarded and qualified sport scientists based at Bisham Abbey, National Sports Centre in order to provide a holistic programme that develops well-rounded, resilient athletes.
Between 2009-2012, I worked for BADMINTON England as a Performance Centre Advisor, and in 2012 I became a L3 coach tutor and now mentor several top coaches from around the region. In order to develop my expertise I regularly visit Denmark to inform and refine ideas and methods, I travel to Asia with players when I can and I keep in contact with a large network of coaches, players and friends from around the world.
