Second Annual Singles Tournament
Badminton Wycombe hosted our Second Annual Singles Tournament with 27 of Wycombe’s top singles players entering with high hopes of scores to settle and some competitive matches - the day did not disappoint!
 
First Round
  • Top seed Daryl Jacobs secured a first round win over Para-badminton specialist Sean O’Sullivan 21-11, 21-11. O’Sullivan had earlier overcome Simon Mitchell 21-5, 21-12
  • In a draw containing both Men and Ladies, Freya Patel was able to defeat Liam Chan 21-7, 21-6
  • Ethan Rose defeated Nick Cartwright 21-8, 21-11
  • Abigail Holden defeated Jason Quarry 21-11, 21-16
  • James Moreton Smith defeated Kishan Hathi  21-10, 21-4
  • Charlie Castle defeated Rohan Smith 21-9, 21-11
  • Colin Beckley defeated Prakriti Raman21-10, 21-14
  • Alistair Jones defeated Connor Strudwick 21-13, 21-16
  • Evie Burbidge defeated Christian Mitchell 21-18, 15-21,  21-17
  • Andy Radon defeated Isum Arachchige 21-12, 21-9
 Second Round
  • Freya Redfearn defeated Natalia Mitchell 21-11, 21-8
  • Henry Prothero defeated Ethan Rose 21- 16, 21-18
  • Adam Lam defeated Kishan Hathi 21-9, 21-11
  • Alex Cook defeated Charlie Castle 21-9, 21-11
  • Dan Blair defeated Colin Beckley by 21-4, 21-7
  • Alistair Jones defeated Evie Burbidge 23-21, 21-17
with David Jones' opponent Andy Radon was forced to retire, creating a last 8 looking very good value for the quarter final clashes.
 
Quarter Finals
  • Daryl Jacobs defeated Freya Redfearn 21-19, 21-14
  • Adam Lam defeated Abigail Holden 21-12, 21-12
  • Dan Blair defeated Alex Cook 16-21, 21-19, 21-17
  • David Jones defeated Alistair Jones 21-13, 21-6
 
Semi Finals
  • Daryl Jacobs beat Adam Lam 21-17, 21-12
  • David Jones beat Dan Blair 21-8, 21-16.
 
The Grand  Final
Daryl won in three close sets 21 -18, 17-21, 21-18 thus ensuring Daryl retained his bragging rights for another 12 months!
