Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR MEMBERS

Wycombe Badminton Centre is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members.  We believe that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and visitors associated with Wycombe Badminton Centre should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect with either their club committee members, coach or with the Centre Manager.

As a member of Wycombe Badminton Centre you are expected to abide by the following code of conduct.

All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow members, opponents, staff and other users of the Centre, regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

Members should learn to accept victory and defeat with equal good grace and without excessive displays of emotion.

All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.

All members must respect the rules and property of Wycombe Badminton Centre.

Members must be aware of potential dangers of playing behind or moving across other courts while the court is in use.

All members must wear suitable non-marking footwear, which, if worn outdoors, should be cleaned. Please change into your playing shoes once you are inside the building and before going into the Hall. This is to prevent gravel being carried from the car park onto the courts and to help preserve the high quality surface.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS/CARERS

Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.

Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.

Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performances of all.

Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.

Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.

Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials.

Publicly accept officials’ judgements.

Use correct and proper language at all times.

Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
