Centre Rules
Wycombe Badminton Centre is here to provide you and everyone else with the best opportunity to play and enjoy badminton, whether it is your first time picking up a racquet or you are training to compete at an international level. We ask you to follow the following rules so that everyone is treated fairly and players, staff and the Centre are all respected, enabling everyone to continue enjoying the facilities and playing badminton.
Membership
1. To play at Wycombe Badminton Centre you will be required to become a Centre Member with either annual or day membership. Exceptions will apply if you are playing in a Wycombe Badminton Centre sanctioned event including tournaments and local league matches (as the away team only).
2. Annual Membership is valid for 12 months starting on the day of purchase. Membership is purchased by registering as a new user on our booking system or going through the online membership renewal process.
Day Membership gives players access to the Centre and its facilities for the day of the court booking - you may return on more than one occasion during the same day.
Day Membership rates do not count as payment towards Annual Membership and will not be refunded should Annual Membership be taken out at a later date.
3. We have a small staff count and consequently keep Membership fees low, so unfortunately, we are not able to provide Membership fee refunds.
4. To ensure the Centre continues to provide a safe, enjoyable and high-quality badminton experience for all, the Centre's users are expected to respect the property of and other users, staff, the Centre Rules and the Code of Conduct. In the event of serious or repeated breaches of the Centre's Rules, the Management reserves the right to revoke individuals' Membership.
Member Court Bookings
5. As an Annual Member, you can book a court up to 9 days in advance and you can do this:
Online, through our website
6. All courts must be paid for at the time of booking.
7. Refunds will ONLY be provided if you cancel online, more than 48 hours in advance of your booking.
8. Please vacate courts promptly at the end of your booking to allow the next group to begin their session on time. Should you wish to extend your booking, please visit Reception, or make an additional booking online to make payment before continuing.
9. Please don't ask staff to bend the booking rules; it is not fair to the staff or the other players. If you have a non-standard requirement, please speak with the Centre Manager.
Footwear, Food & Drink
10. All users must wear suitable non-marking footwear in the Hall, which, if worn outdoors, should be cleaned. Please change your shoes after entering the Centre and before going into the Hall. Wearing dirty footwear inside increases our cleaning costs, damages the expensive court floors, which will only result in higher court fees.
11. Please do not walk across the back of courts whilst play is in progress - it is distracting to the players and potentially dangerous to both the players and you.
12. Only drinks in suitable screw-top or sealable plastic containers are allowed in the Hall.
13. Food should only be consumed in the 'Viewing area' (upstairs) and chewing gum is not permitted anywhere within the Centre
Photography & Filming
14. Anyone wishing to photograph or video at the Centre must be approved by the Centre management:
email: [email protected].
Filming should only take place at the back of the court and permission should be sought from the coach/parents/adults of all players involved.
Please also refer to Badminton England's Photographic Guidelines...
