Battledore Junior Badminton Club is again hosting
2 Junior Bronze Circuit Tournaments on 28th and 29th December 2024
at Wycombe Badminton Centre, Crest Road, High Wycombe, HP11 1UA.
Saturday 28th December 2024 will be the U15 Bronze Tournament.
This event is suitable for players:

*In line with Badminton England Trans-Gender policy, all participants are required to play within their sex assigned at birth. Open Events are available to players born male or born female. Women’s events may only be entered by players born female. Open Doubles pairings must both be of the same birth sex and Mixed Doubles pairings a player born male and a player born female.

- Graded H-K or ungraded, in any discipline entered
- Holding a Badminton England membership – either ‘Junior Compete’ or ‘Junior Community / Junior Club Community’ – which must be upgraded to ‘Compete’ for this event, for an additional charge

Abby Kumar Honoured at Yonex 2023 All England Open Badminton.
At the recent Yonex 2023 All England Open Badminton Championships (14th-19th March 2023) held at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, Abby Kumar was presented with an award for completing 50 years’ service as a volunteer at the Championships.
His certificate and award were presented by Chris Miller, Tournament Director, in front of the assembled volunteer workforce on Tuesday evening.

This is an outstanding achievement by Abby, whose current role at the Championships is Manager of Line Judges. The award is a mark of his dedication to and passion for the sport of badminton, which anyone who knows Abby will bear witness to.
The sharp-eyed amongst you may have noticed Abby on the podium on Finals Day, presenting the silver medal to the runner-up in the Women’s Singles, Chen Yu Fei.
Abby was Director of Badminton Wycombe from 2006 to 2017 when he retired from that role. He was involved with setting up the Performance Centre at Wycombe in 2009, and worked at Badminton Wycombe for many, many years in various guises, teaching, managing and promoting the sport to as many people as possible.
Congratulations Abby on an amazing 50 years!
