Don't Slip On The Courts

7/11/2015

Some people may have noticed that there is some more moisture than normal on the courts, this is due to the external colder and more humid air entering the Centre.  To ensure the floor doesn't become too slippy we are running the extractor fans and floor level heaters.

To keep the you safe playing on the courts please:
  1. Do use the court mops, which can be found at the back of the courts to get rid of any moisture on court.
  2. Do not turn off the extractor fans - they remove the rising warm air that contains moisture from the building.  A bit of drift is a small price to pay to ensure you can play.
  3. Do not turn off the floor level heaters - they raise the temperature of the air at floor level, helping to prevent condensation from occurring,

Why didn't BW turn the heating on? It will surely improve the condition a lot.

Dear Concerned Member,
The Centre's heating is automatically controlled to maintain a constant temperature in the hall based both on the internal and external temperature. We have indeed increased the desired temperature in the hall. It is the extractor fans that are removing the moist air from the building, which will ultimately address the challenge issue.

Hopefully, everyone will have seen the condition of the courts improve significantly.
