July Singles Tournament Results

It was the hottest day of the year but this didn't prevent 10 players competing in this month's singles tournament.
Once again we saw Alistair and Jason battle it out in the final - is there anyone willing to try and stop them, who hasn't entered recently?  Alistair won 21-8, 21-16.

DETAILS FOR AUGUST TOURNAMENT

Despite valiant efforts Jason was unable to unseat Alistair (who must be near the top of the rankings now).
Jason did however take a lead 16-14 in the second game but ironically, just as he inched ahead, the hot weather played its hand and Jason was struck with cramp. The final score 21 - 8 and 21 - 16 to Alistair. 
So well done to those two.
 
Wednesday also saw the first game for our youngest player,  Etham Rose aged 12.
Interestingly his first game was against our oldest player Colin.B at 61 years. Well, Etham
had a good start here winning 12-10. However, even better than this he went on to gain 3rd place
in the tournament. An excellent start!
 
Fourth place went to Riaz and Andy won the Consolation cup.
